CURTISS ROBIN NC767M

Goodyear Corporate Aircraft

Images, below, courtesy of the pilot's son, who says, "My father flew the Curtiss Robin as Chief Pilot for Goodyear Aircraft and as logged in [the Register] for 02/08/1931 . . . I was 2 years old."

NC767M Curtiss Robin

This airplane landed only once at Tucson, at 6:30PM on the date cited above. William N. Hudson was westbound from San Antonio, TX to Los Angeles, CA with a single passenger, Larry O. Gunther. The airplane was based at Akron, OH, home office for Goodyear.

The image below has a story. Notice the engine is running, there is no one in the cockpit, and there are no wheel chocks. Pilot Hudson is demonstrating for the camera the efficacy of Goodyear aircraft brakes! Note the tail skid in the above image is replaced by a tail wheel in the image below.
