FAIRCHILD KR-21 NC/NX107M

The NASM record for this airplane is sketchy, as NC107M is still registered with the FAA and flying. It was manufactured during 1930 by the Fairchild Airplane Manufacturing Corp., NY. It was a two-place biplane (S/N 1011) with a 100HP Kinner engine. It arrived at Tucson from Glendale, CA on Friday and Saturday June 6-7, 1930 flown by Bob Starkey. He carried a Mrs. Porter as his only passenger.

Low sun-angle photograph, above, is from a recent aviation calendar, where the beautiful NC107M was featured as a poster image along with eleven other vintage aircraft. Note the front cockpit is covered.

Besides the manufacturer, two owners are recognizable from the NASM record. They are Robert E. Brigham of California and Burton O. Bundy of San Luis Obispo, CA. There is no information regarding the "NX' and "NC" registration changes. Likewise, there is no information on transfers, modifications, inspections or accidents in the NASM record. NC107M is presently owned by an individual in San Jose, CA.
