Registration Number NC3810

Mystery Airplane

This aircraft is a Ryan B-1 Brougham, S/N 57 (ATC 25). It shares lineage with the “Spirit of St. Louis”, and was built during the same year. The B.F. Mahoney Aircraft Co., San Diego, CA manufactured it on 12/19/1927. It was equipped with a 220 HP Wright J-5CA engine, S/N 8157. It weighed 3,300 pounds.

It was flown away from the factory by its new owner, Southwest Ryan Airlines, 1204 Atlas Bldg., Tulsa, OK (Al Henley, Manager). It had an engine change on 5/11/28 (Wright S/N 8098).

Application for renewal of its registration was cancelled on 8/7/29 because the owner was not ready to have the inspection performed. On 8/26/20 inspector A. Rowe refused to license the airplane. No further information.
