This airplane was a Buhl CA-3C converted to a model CA-3D. It carried S/N 35. It was a famous airplane, flown by two Davis-Monthan Register pilots, Loren Mendell and Pete Rinehart.
NC7448 appears once in the Davis-Monthan Airfield Register on June 26, 1931. The pilot on that occasion was Frederick C. Porter, whose itinerary took him from Clover Field, Santa Monica, CA, through Tucson, and eastward to El Paso, TX. The airplane is not logged in the Clover Field Register.
NC7448 also landed nine times at the Grand Central Air Terminal (GCAT) in Glendale, CA. Its full technograph and a photograph are exhibited over on the GCAT Web site at the link.
