This book describes and illustrates with black & white photographs the majority of military aircraft that landed at the Davis-Monthan Airfield between 1925 and 1936. The book includes biographies of some of the pilots who flew the aircraft to Tucson as well as extensive listings of all the pilots and airplanes. L.M. Pedigo was born into a family of five other children on July 24, 1894 in Glasgow, KY.
His father was a Liveryman, which at that time meant horses. I don't know much about Pedigo's early life. The 1900 U.S. Census placed him in Glasgow with his large family. The same in the 1910 Census.
Pedigo signed the Register at Tucson Sunday, July 31, 1932 at 2:30PM. He carried three unidentified passengers. They were inbound from Chicago, IL. They departed for Davenport, IA the same day. It appears that his landing was part of the same itinerary that brought him westbound through Colorado Springs, CO about the same time: a round trip from Chicago to Davenport to Los Angeles.
Pedigo's full biography, with photographs, is at the Colorado Springs link above. An unfortunate incident on January 24, 1933 took Pedigo's life. He had an appendix operation and died of complications therefrom. He flew West carrying Transport pilot certificate T1436. I have little information about Pedigo, his businesses, or his family.
