A copy of the Davis-Monthan Airfield Register with all the pilots' signatures and helpful cross-references to pilots and airplanes is available here.

This link leads you to a book that describes and illustrates with black & white photographs the majority of military aircraft that landed at the Davis-Monthan Airfield between 1925 and 1936. The book includes biographies of some of the pilots who flew the aircraft to Tucson as well as extensive listings of all the pilots and airplanes.

JAMES A. "JACK" WOODRUFF (?)

"Jack" (James A. ?) Woodruff, Date Unknown
James A. Woodruff, Date Unknown

This is a stretch for an identification, but the only thing near this pilot in the NASM dossier cited in the left sidebar is an image of a "Jack" Woodruff.

James A. Woodruff landed at Tucson on July 15, 1931 at 12:50 PM. As a military pilot, based at Wright Field, Dayton, OH, he was flying 32-114, a Douglas O-38-B. He was solo eastbound from San Diego, CA, Rockwell Field to El Paso, TX.

The only thing in Woodruff's NASM dossier is this image (which was probably taken after 1954, as the originals were returned to the National Archives from the NASM, leaving only this copy).

Please note, it is not clear if this person is the same as the James A. Woodruff who signed the Register. If you have any information one way or the other, please let me KNOW.
