This book describes and illustrates with black & white photographs the majority of military aircraft that landed at the Davis-Monthan Airfield between 1925 and 1936. BOEING O-2B1 A-6908
|
According to Joe Baugher's site, Bureau Numbers A-6898 through A-6927 were Boeing O2B-1s, serial numbers 619 through 648. They were originally Army deHavilland DH-4M-1s rebuilt by Boeing and transferred from to the Navy from the Army. The photograph below, from a private collector (cited, right sidebar), shows A-6908 on the ground in Haiti.

The donor says, "... this particular photo of A-6908 was in a series of photos taken by a Marine stationed in Haiti in the late 1920s."
A-6908 landed once at Tucson Monday, May 31, 1926 at 10:45 AM. It was piloted by Edwin H. Brainard. He carried a single passenger, Master Tech. Sgt. R.S. Fry. Based at Washington, DC, they were westbound from El Paso, TX to San Diego, CA. No reason was given in the Register for their flight.
