TRAVEL AIR NC12311

NC12311 was flown solo to Tucson by Stafford L. (Casey) Lambert. Although he didn't enter a date for his arrival, it was, by Register context, sometime between April 12-14, 1932. Based in St. Louis, MO, Lambert was westbound from El Paso, TX to Los Angeles, CA.

This airplane is a Model B-14-R Speedwing, 2 place, s/n 2003, manufactured October 3, 1931 in St. Louis, MO for Casey Lambert. It was delivered with a black fuselage with yellow wings and horizontal tail surfaces, and red trim. It was powered originally by a Wright R975-E2 of 420HP. Today it is powered by a Pratt & Whitney R985 450HP. It had a gross weight of 2,956 lbs and cruise speed of 180mph at sea level; 200mph at 10,000 feet.
