This book describes and illustrates with black & white photographs the majority of military aircraft that landed at the Davis-Monthan Airfield between 1925 and 1936. The book includes biographies of some of the pilots who flew the aircraft to Tucson as well as extensive listings of all the pilots and airplanes. STEARMAN C-3B NC8825

This Stearman (S/N 239) visited Tucson twice flown by Bob Blair. Blair's first visit was on Tuesday, September 15, 1931 at 8:45PM. He arrived from his base in Los Angeles, CA, remained overnight, and departed for El Paso, TX the following day at 3:15PM. He carried one unidentified passenger. He returned westbound through Tucson three days later, traveling from El Paso to Los Angeles. He carried two unidentified passengers.
Up until ca. 2012 NC8825 was owned by an individual in Spokane, WA. Today NC8825 is owned by a non-profit in Wisconsin. Its registration fee has beein paid but not yet assigned.
NC8825 also landed once at Tucson, Friday, January 29,1926 at 4:25PM. It was flown by George Lyle. As with several other Register airplanes over the years, NC8825 appeared in a 1931 motion picture titled "Flying High."
