The New Standard D-29 sold new for $4,250 in 1929. This airplane is a D-29 Special, with a 95HP Menasco B-4 engine installed. It was S/N 1026. The Navy version, with the Kinner B-5 engine installed was called the NT-1. There was no information at the Smithsonian about this airplane, so this page is sparse. If you know anything about NX172M or NC172M, please let me know.
